- Hi Mayor Wu, I live on Washburn street in Dorchester and commute to work via bike towards Ruggles. Washburn Street is right off of Boston Street with absolutely no bike lanes. Cars fly down this road and often make turns down Washburn Street without checking for pedestrians or bikers even when there is a pedestrian walk sign. The lack of bike lanes leaves cars to swerve around cyclists very fast and there are often cars double parked leaving no room for safe cycling. I am requesting bike lanes be added to Boston Street immediately. Specifically the intersection of Boston Street, Dorchester Ave, and Southhampton Street has no bike lanes, leaving bikers unprotected and vehicles frustrated. This intersection is immensely dangerous especially with the large flow of pedestrian traffic coming from Andrew Sq station. Please review this for safety concerns and add bike lanes promptly. Thank you!
