Description
Construction vehicles doing work on the bridge on belgrade near center street in west roxbury driving super recklessly. They have been doing so but usually at times in the day when there isnt traffic. This morning during rush hour traffic, Saw a truck with a trailer attached to the back with equipment run a red light to take a left from beech onto west roxbury parkway while oncoming traffic had a green, forcing people to slam on their breaks , think I saw the driver flip off someone who honked at him. Then he went around the double lane of traffic waiting at the light at the intersection of west roxbury parkway and belgrade, creating a third illegal lane and basically driving in the opposite direction lane, and took a left turn back onto belgrade on the red light, again causing people to break and veer to get out of his way. I understand they have a job to do but it felt vagrantly unsafe. Not city vehicles, clearly a contractor, but would the city be liable if he had caused an accident? This is not the first time I’ve witnessed them operating their vehicles and machinery in ways that seemed unsafe, but given how much traffic and how many accidents already occur at this intersection, it felt shocking to see this truck with a large trailer attached driving so quickly, recklessly, illegally, and so angrily to be flipping off other drivers.
